Introduction

We have tested over 140 Braided Lines and here are the top 5 for:
1. Tensile Strength : This is a number that is obtained by calculating the force required to break the line, then divided by the lines diameter. With this in mind, there are 2 ways for a line to achieve a higher Tensile Strength: 1. Have a thinner diameter 2. Break at a higher load The result is expressed in PSI or ‘Pounds per Square Inch’, the higher the better.
2. Abrasion Resistance : The force that the line breaks at when placed under our abrasion test. This is expressed as a percentage of the lines maximum breaking strain.
3. FG Knot Strength : The force that the line breaks at when tied to a leader using an FG Knot. This is expressed as a percentage of the lines maximum breaking strain.
4. Overall Best : A combination of all three previous tests, with each braids’ rank taken and added together. The lower the combined number the higher the ranking.
